DALLAS, TX — On Friday night, Dallas hip-hop icon Dorrough proved once again why his name remains synonymous with the city’s culture as he packed out the legendary Trees in Deep Ellum for the highly anticipated Dorrough & Friends concert event. While the evening celebrated Dallas music and culture, the atmosphere also carried the energy of a hometown celebration for one of the city’s most respected artists.
Located in the heart of Deep Ellum on historic Elm Street, Trees has been one of Dallas’ most respected live music venues since opening in 1990, hosting legendary acts such as Nirvana, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam. On this particular Friday night, however, the spotlight belonged to Dallas and Texas culture. On a Friday night in Deep Ellum, one of the busiest entertainment districts in Texas, the sold-out crowd made it clear this was more than just another concert.
The venue was filled wall-to-wall with fans, artists, DJs, media personalities, and industry figures, creating an atmosphere that felt electric from the moment doors opened.
Prior to the event, Dorrough stopped by Bosstalk 101 to discuss upcoming projects and hinted that something major was on the horizon.
Friday night proved he wasn’t exaggerating.
For one night, two cities known for their historic rivalry put all differences aside and came together to show love to Dorrough. Dallas and Fort Worth artists, supporters, and industry figures helped put to rest the long-standing stereotype that the Metroplex can’t unite, creating a powerful display of solidarity.
With DJ Boosie F Baby, DJ Don Perion, and DJ Hella Yella controlling the soundtrack, alongside 97.9 The Beat personalities Jazzi Black and Spaceboi Fresh hosting the festivities, the energy never dipped. The lineup featured more than 25 artists and performers, creating an atmosphere that felt like a citywide celebration while showcasing the strength and unity of Dallas music culture.

Bosstalk PRIMETIME 101 Street Team was live and direct throughout the evening, networking with artists, entertainers, executives, and legends from across the state. Dorrough and his team extended incredible hospitality to the brand, providing Bosstalk 101 with a front-row experience to one of the most memorable concerts in recent Texas music history.

The performances were a reminder of just how influential Dallas music culture remains. The GS Boyz helped put North Texas on the map with their breakout movement and brought the crowd back to the golden era of the Dallas Boogie movement. Alongside Young Black and The Party Boyz, they proved that the sound never died—it simply evolved.

While the event proudly celebrated Dallas culture, several respected Texas artists also made their presence felt. DJ XO, Ttod Bumpy Johnson, and Chalie Boy each contributed to the statewide unity that was on full display throughout the night.

Between live performances, DJs kept the crowd energized with a soundtrack of Dallas classics that had the entire venue moving. When Dorrough finally took the stage and launched into his classic hit “Cirque,” the crowd erupted. The energy only intensified as friends, family, artists, and supporters filled the stage to celebrate the hometown legend.
Then came one of the evening’s most unforgettable moments.

Legendary Dallas collective DSR took control of the building, sending the crowd into a frenzy with timeless anthems including “Not A Stain On Me” and “Caprice Music.” The entire venue became one giant celebration of the city and its rich musical history.
As if that wasn’t enough, Jhonnie Damn D delivered the knockout punch by bringing out Yung Nation. Once “Murda Bend” hit the speakers, the crowd response made it clear that the night had officially entered legendary territory.
