RATCHET LO PUTS THE SOUTH ON NOTICE WITH “HUT” AT PRAIRIE VIEW HOMECOMING

Shreveport’s rising star joins Big Boogie for a high-energy moment at one of Texas’ biggest homecoming traditions

Prairie View, Texas, brought its homecoming energy—and Shreveport artist Ratchet Lo met it full force. During Prairie View A&M University’s Homecoming weekend, Memphis rapper Big Boogie brought Ratchet Lo onstage for a moment that turned the crowd all the way up and gave fans a taste of the sound moving across the South.

Together, they brought out “HUT,” Ratchet Lo’s breakout single featuring Sickasxxgeo. Built around a gritty, high-energy bounce and a hook that calls on listeners to drop into a “three-point stance” with their “hands on the ground,” the track has become a Southern crowd favorite. Its momentum has spilled onto TikTok, where the song has generated more than 1.8 million video creations and inspired a dance craze catching on with high school and college crowds.

The record carries a raw, infectious energy that connects with the Memphis bounce movement associated with artists like Big Boogie, while Ratchet Lo brings his own Shreveport flavor to the mix. For the Allendale neighborhood native, sharing that sound at Prairie View was more than a performance. It was a chance to represent his city on a Texas stage during a weekend rooted in school pride, culture, and tradition.

Shreveport has given the world artists like Hurricane Chris and producer Hollywood Bay Bay. Ratchet Lo is adding his name to that city’s next chapter, carrying the energy of his hometown into rooms across the South. His Prairie View appearance offered a glimpse of what can happen when a regional record catches fire and the crowd already knows every move.

In a brief phone interview, Ratchet Lo described the pandemonium in the atmosphere as “crazy.” He and his fellow DJ, Lil Fella YB, also reflected on their first Prairie View Homecoming experience, calling it indescribable. The moment made a strong impression—and left plenty of room for what comes next.

Ratchet Lo closed the conversation with a message for 2027: look out for more bangers, more business, and more profit. That forward motion reflects the kind of ambition Bosstalk 101 celebrates: a unique hustle built on music, movement, and turning a moment into momentum. With “HUT” continuing to travel and new moves on the way, Ratchet Lo is giving the South something to watch—and a sound crowds may be shouting long after Homecoming weekend.
