The infamous Shatasha Williams recently tapped in with the Bosstalk 101 family for an exclusive interview filled with insightful conversation, untold stories, and plenty of memorable moments. The panel delivered engaging questions that allowed fans to learn more about the woman behind one of hip-hop’s most recognizable hooks.
Most people know Shatasha from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s classic debut hit, Thuggish Ruggish Bone. However, this interview proves she was far more than a one-song contributor. Throughout the conversation, she reflected on working alongside legendary names such as Scarface and Mariah Carey—collaborations that many fans may not have known were part of her musical journey.
Before the success came her upbringing. many assumed Shatasha was from Cleveland. As it turns out, many of us had it wrong. Shatasha was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she describes growing up in a close-knit family that emphasized respect, values, and discipline.

Her path eventually led her to Los Angeles, where she crossed paths with Eazy-E and the Ruthless Records camp through a mutual friend. Confident in her abilities, Shatasha recalled recording her now-iconic hook in just one take. That confidence helped create one of the most recognizable moments in hip-hop history.
Although she toured with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony following the record’s success, that chapter was cut short after the unexpected passing of Eazy-E. During the interview, she spoke candidly about how quickly everything happened and how legal matters surrounding her work were never properly finalized—an issue she says still weighs on her today.
Eupho’s Cut: About the Music Video
I remember this video like it was yesterday. It was the summer of 1994, and I was just 12 years old. I can still remember being completely captivated by the production and, most importantly, Shatasha’s voice. Even today, I get that same feeling whenever she takes the song into the bridge toward the end of the record. To me, it’s an all-time classic and a true staple in hip-hop history.
Today, Shatasha continues to show resilience by recording new music, performing live across the country, and appearing on podcasts while continuing to share her story with longtime supporters and new fans alike.
E-CEO and Mz. Jamaica closed the interview with words of encouragement, reminding her to keep pushing forward because her gift is something no one can ever take away.
