Alexandria Cox: Redefining Elegance, Education & Empowerment
Dallas, TX — The BossTalk 101 Podcast recently welcomed back a familiar face and powerful voice: Alexandria Cox, known to many as Poka. This rising star in public speaking continues to captivate audiences with her elegance, intelligence, and authenticity.
Host E CEO introduced Alexandria with a level of admiration that matched her accomplishments. A proud product of Dallas, Alexandria shared her journey of resilience, recalling how even local neighborhood figures encouraged her to stay in school. In a moment of humor, she admitted once believing those same dealers were attending school themselves, a realization that helped her frame education as a worthy investment in her own future. That investment paid off—she earned her Master’s Degree at just 21 years old.
Now an accomplished public speaker, author, and mentor, Alexandria is a fixture in the children’s community. Her book tours have shown her how deeply young audiences connect with her message, often valuing her presence even more than the celebrity guests she shared stages with. Through her nonprofit Poka’s Practice and her motivational brand Poka Speaks, she continues to guide youth in life skills, literacy, and personal growth.
As the interview dove into what’s next, Alexandria revealed her excitement—and nerves—about competing in the Miss Dallas USA Pageant. Her playful concern about modeling a swimsuit in front of her father revealed both the respect she holds for her family and the values she carries with her.
Her message is clear: every young Black woman doesn’t have to present themselves half dressed for attention. Intelligence, discipline, and grace shine just as brightly—and Alexandria embodies that truth.
