Boosie Badazz Accepts Federal Plea Deal After Prolonged Legal Battle

Torrence Hatch Jr., better known as Boosie Badazz (formerly Lil’ Boosie), has agreed to a federal plea deal related to a gun possession case that has marred his life since 2023. The announcement came today, August 4, 2025, when Boosie posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“JUST ACCEPTED A PLEA FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON MY GUN CASE. … IM TIRED OF FIGHTING.”

Boosie was initially arrested in May 2023 in San Diego after police viewed an Instagram Live and subsequently located two loaded handguns in his vehicle, sparking state charges. Those charges were dismissed that summer, but the federal government soon brought new charges, including firearm possession as a convicted felon and possessing a firearm while using controlled substances.

Despite the initial dismissal in July 2024, he was re‑indicted in July 2025 on the same firearm count along with an added drug-related allegation. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Boosie shared that family support played a key role in his decision:

“TALKED TO MY FAMILY N THIS IS THE RIGHT DECISION… TO ALL MY FANS ACROSS THE WORLD SAY A PRAYER FOR YA BOY.”

He emphasized being exhausted by the prolonged legal battle, suggesting that the plea could spare him from jail time, or at least significantly reduce it.

As of now, the specific details of the plea agreement remain unknown, and it’s not yet clear whether Boosie will serve any jail time. Legal observers suggest possibilities ranging from probation to a reduced sentence, but no confirmation has been publicly released.

All we can do is stay tuned. Let me know what you think in the comments!
