The world is mourning the loss of legendary R&B singer Freddie Jackson, whose smooth voice became part of the soundtrack to countless love stories. Jackson passed away on the night of October 5, 2026, at age 70, just days after celebrating his birthday on October 2. His family announced his passing, but has not released a cause of death.
A defining voice of quiet storm, Jackson brought warmth, tenderness and timeless romance to R&B. Generations of listeners will remember the emotion in classics like “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake),” “You Are My Lady,” “Tasty Love” and “Jam Tonight.” His songs topped the R&B charts and helped secure his place among the genre’s most beloved artists.
Freddie Jackson’s voice gave love a melody—and that gift will live on through every song, every memory and every listener he touched. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans and everyone grieving his loss. Rest in peace, Freddie Jackson.
