CHICO BEAN PROVES HEALTH IS WEALTH ON HIS ROAD TO THE NYC MARATHON

Comedian Chico Bean is known for bringing laughter everywhere he goes, but the two-time Bosstalk 101 guest is now inspiring people through an entirely different journey—his commitment to better health.

During Andscape’s episode, “Major Road to NYC Marathon,” Chico begins preparing for the New York City Marathon while balancing comedy tour dates scheduled throughout late 2026 and early 2027. From the beginning of the episode, his lifestyle transformation and weight loss are impossible to overlook. He appears slimmer, energized and focused, moving with an uptempo spirit that reflects the work he has been putting in behind the scenes.

The journey began after Chico learned that he had high blood pressure. That health wake-up call encouraged him to start running, lose weight and make serious changes to his daily routine. What started as a personal mission to improve his health has now become a message he can share with others about the mental and physical benefits of running.

Episode one follows Chico through Charlotte, North Carolina, where he trains alongside the Mad Miles Run Club. The community gives him support, accountability and consistency as he works toward his ultimate goal. Chico is not consumed with finishing the marathon in a specific time—he simply wants to cross the finish line.

That mindset makes his journey even more relatable. Chico openly talks about his love for chicken wings, but he also understands that creating a healthier life requires replacing harmful habits with productive ones. His visit to the Charlotte Running Company gives viewers additional insight into proper marathon shoes, equipment and the importance of preparing the right way.

The episode is another strong display of Black excellence. It shows a successful Black entertainer becoming intentional about his health while encouraging others in our communities to do the same. Health is wealth, and Chico is demonstrating that transformation does not happen overnight—it happens through consistent decisions.

His latest journey also connects directly to the wisdom he previously shared during his visits to Bosstalk 101. Chico spoke about meditation, giving yourself quiet time to process your thoughts and understanding that every day comes with a grade. Some days may be an A+, while others may feel like a D-, but if you remain consistent, you will not fail.

With that mindset, it is no surprise that Chico Bean is preparing himself to take on one of the world’s biggest marathons. Whether he is standing on a comedy stage or running toward a finish line, his message remains the same: progress comes from showing up, staying disciplined and refusing to quit.
