Daz Dillinger Calls Out Dr. Dre: “Where Are My Royalties?”

Hip-hop vet and former Death Row producer and cousin to Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger is calling out Dr. Dre over unpaid royalties tied to one of the most iconic rap albums ever made: The Chronic.
In a recent post, Daz celebrated the album’s anniversary but didn’t hold back on what he says has been a decades-long issue. According to him, he helped produce and shape several tracks but has never seen the royalties he’s owed.
Instead of a quiet behind-the-scenes dispute, Daz went public—posting:
“HAPPY 31st C DAY TO THE CHRONIC @drdre … BUT WHEN CAN WE RECEIVE OUR ROYALTIES?”
This isn’t just about money; it’s about legacy.
It’s about the producers, writers, and creatives who helped build the West Coast sound but didn’t get the same recognition when the checks were cut.
The Chronic is considered one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time, Daz’s claims reignite a bigger conversation about credit in the industry.
We’ve heard similar conversations around Death Row’s history, publishing battles, and who really built the sound that defined the 90s. Daz speaking up now adds another layer to a story that’s been brewing for years.

Now we’re watching to see if Dre responds, if this turns into a legal battle, or if other artists from that era step forward with their own stories.
As hip-hop legends age and catalog rights become more valuable than ever, these conversations are no longer staying behind closed doors.
E CEO and OG Piru discussed the situation and according to OG, Dazz picked the losing team once he cut affiliation with Death Row. I however, don’t think it has anything to do with what’s possibly owed to him. Right is right. So if he contributed to the albums, he should be compensated.
