Watch Rainwater’s Bosstalk101 on OC Chris’s New Contract

Dallas, TX — According to multiple social media sources, rising Oak Cliff rapper OC Chris has officially signed a multi-million dollar deal with APG (Artist Partner Group), making him one of the youngest rappers from Texas — and reportedly the youngest out of Dallas — to land such a major contract.

This milestone comes on the heels of a Rainwater mix up, where speculation swirled about whether Dallas music mogul Rainwater was managing the young star. Rainwater cleared the air, stating, “I don’t manage artists. I only do production deals.” He further noted that he played a key role in helping Chris secure the APG deal, and clarified that Chris’s spot on the NBA YoungBoy Tour was already locked into his contract.

Despite the chatter, OC Chris’s rise has been fueled by undeniable momentum. His breakout Rap Economics Freestyle, delivered on the Texas-based hip hop platform earlier this year, showcased his raw storytelling and viral energy. He followed up with his debut mixtape, Everybody Hates OC Chris, and visuals like “Out the Hood” and “Bailar”, cementing his buzz across the South.

Industry watchers are already drawing comparisons to other young Texans who broke into the majors early — Houston’s That Girl Lay Lay and Dallas’s Lil Twist — but fans insist OC Chris is building his own legacy. With his first major-label album, Everybody Hates, released on September 10, 2025, featuring Paul Wall and Peso Peso, the Oak Cliff native is being hailed as the future of Dallas rap.
