POOH SHIESTY’S “FDO” GOES PLATINUM AS FANS STAND BEHIND THE MEMPHIS STAR

Pooh Shiesty continues to prove that his fan base has remained loyal through every chapter of his career.
His comeback single “FDO” (First Day Out) has officially earned RIAA Platinum certification, surpassing one million units sold. Released as his first official single after returning home, the TP808-produced record quickly reminded fans why Shiesty remains one of the most recognizable voices to emerge from Memphis in recent years. The record climbed as high as No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, signaling that his momentum hadn’t disappeared despite years away from the spotlight.
The title carries even more meaning considering the history behind the phrase. Gucci Mane famously popularized “First Day Out” with his own release in 2009 following his incarceration. Years later, the phrase has taken on a new chapter with Pooh Shiesty’s “FDO”—an ironic twist considering Gucci Mane now finds himself on the opposite side of the headlines following his April 2026 federal arrest alongside eight co-defendants, including his father, in a case involving alleged kidnapping and armed robbery charges.
Despite the legal distractions surrounding some of hip-hop’s biggest names, Pooh Shiesty’s music continues to resonate with listeners. Before his latest legal issues, he had already been back in the studio, teasing new music and linking up with fellow Memphis superstar GloRilla. Although he only spent approximately four to five months free before returning to legal trouble, supporters have continued streaming his music at an impressive pace, helping “FDO” reach platinum status.

Shiesty has also confirmed that a new full-length album is on the way, though an official release date has yet to be announced. If the success of “FDO” is any indication, anticipation remains high, and fans appear ready to support whatever comes next whenever the Memphis rapper returns with his next project.
What are your expectations for Pooh Shiesty’s next album? Can he pick up where he left off, or has hip-hop changed too much during his absence?
