Rickey Smiley Shuts Down Birmingham on Cash Money & No Limit Tour

Birmingham, AL — The Cash Money & No Limit Tour is bringing decades of Southern hip-hop history to arenas across the country—and its Birmingham stop showed how special the night can get when the South comes together to celebrate.
Bosstalk 101 caught a glimpse of the Birmingham show through a local blog platform, and the footage captured the kind of energy that makes this tour feel bigger than a concert. As our very own E CEO puts it, “OUR MUSIC IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE JAM IN THE SOUTH.”

Comedian Rickey Smiley brought that spirit straight to his hometown. When the familiar bass line from the down-South classic “How Ya Do Dat” started playing, Smiley made his grand entrance with a microphone stand held like the song’s famous bass guitar. The crowd erupted, and his stage act turned a beloved piece of Southern comedy history into a live moment for the arena.
That’s part of what makes this tour worth watching: the cameos and surprises honor the people who helped build the culture around these labels. Cash Money Records and No Limit Records once stood as rival New Orleans independent powerhouses. Now, under the banner “Two Empires. One Stage. One Time,” the tour brings their legacies together for a celebration of Southern sound, entrepreneurship and influence.
The Birmingham moment also carried the feeling of a homecoming—one more reminder that the South knows how to turn its music into a party. With more shows still ahead, the next surprise could be waiting at any stop. If you’ve been thinking about going, check the remaining dates and get your tickets while you can. You never know who might walk out next.
Shout out to Rickey Smiley for holding it down in Birmingham and giving fans another memory to carry with them.
