Bun B Celebrates Wife Queenie Walls Being Cancer-Free: A Victory for Faith, Family, and Early Detection
Houston, TX — February 2026
Texas hip-hop legend Bun B is celebrating a deeply personal victory as his wife, Queenie Walls, has officially been declared cancer-free after battling stage 2 breast cancer. Known worldwide as one half of UGK and a pillar of Southern hip-hop culture, Bun B reminded fans that beyond the music and legacy, he is a family man first.
Queenie was diagnosed in June 2025 during a routine annual checkup. What followed was a difficult journey that included five months of chemotherapy from July through December and surgery in early January 2026. In February, the couple shared an emotional moment as Queenie rang the bell at Houston Methodist in Sugar Land, marking the end of treatment and the beginning of remission.
Throughout the process, Bun B praised his wife’s strength, faith, and resilience, calling her his hero as she continued to show up for family despite the physical toll of treatment. The announcement wasn’t just a celebration — it was also a message. Bun B emphasized the importance of annual health screenings, noting that early detection played a critical role in Queenie’s recovery.
For a man often recognized as a legend in the culture, this moment highlighted something even greater: the power of love, faith, and family standing strong through life’s toughest battles.
