Walk for Peace: A 120-Day Journey of Compassion, Unity, and Healing Across America
Fort Worth, TX — Washington, D.C.
In a time marked by division, unrest, and emotional fatigue, a powerful act of unity is unfolding on America’s roads. Walk for Peace, a 120-day, 2,300-mile walking journey led by Buddhist monks and their loyal canine companion, Aloka, is bringing a living message of peace, loving-kindness, and compassion from Fort Worth, Texas to Washington, D.C.
This movement is not a protest — it is a prayer in motion.

The Who
Walk for Peace is led by a group of devoted Buddhist monks who have committed their bodies, minds, and spirits to a cross-country pilgrimage. With no agenda rooted in politics or profit, their mission is simple yet profound: to remind humanity of its shared responsibility to lead with compassion.
Alongside them walks Aloka, a symbol of loyalty, innocence, and unconditional love — a reminder that peace extends to all living beings.
The Why
At a time when violence, polarization, and mental health crises dominate headlines, Walk for Peace exists to slow the world down.
This journey was created to:
- Encourage nonviolence and emotional healing
- Promote mental wellness through mindfulness
- Inspire compassion over conflict
- Reconnect communities with the power of presence and kindness
The monks believe peace is not something we demand — it is something we practice.
The Goal
The ultimate goal of Walk for Peace is awareness and transformation.
By physically walking across America, the monks aim to:
- Spark conversations about peace in everyday communities
- Create moments of reflection in cities, towns, and rural spaces
- Encourage individuals to embody kindness in daily life
- Unite people across cultural, racial, and spiritual lines
Their destination — Washington, D.C. — symbolizes a call for peace not just at the personal level, but within leadership, systems, and society as a whole.
What Has Happened So Far
Now well into the journey, Walk for Peace has:
- Reached Day 63+ of the 120-day walk
- Engaged thousands of supporters online and in person
- Drawn nearly 300,000 followers across social platforms
- Inspired spontaneous acts of kindness from strangers along the route
- Created safe spaces for reflection, prayer, and dialogue in communities nationwide
People have joined the monks for short walks, offered food and shelter, shared stories, and paused — if only for a moment — to reconnect with their humanity.
Why This Matters
Walk for Peace reminds us that peace does not begin in institutions — it begins in people.
In every step, the monks demonstrate that:
- Peace is a daily discipline
- Compassion is a strength
- Stillness can be revolutionary
- Healing is possible when we walk together
This journey is a living message: slow down, choose kindness, and remember we are all connected.
How to Support
The public is encouraged to:
- Follow and share the journey
- Walk alongside them when they pass through your city
- Donate to support the mission
- Practice one act of compassion each day
Peace is not a destination. It’s a direction.
And right now, it’s walking across America.
